SunCon is committed to provide employees with a safe & healthy workplace. In order to achieve this objective, SunCon takes all measures to identify, assess, manage and mitigate the hazards faced by employees and stakeholders. In its effort and determination to inculcate a safe work culture, it was certified with the OHSAS 18001:1999 standard in 2001.
All work activities are carried out after hazard identification and risk assessment. Subcontractors are exposed to the Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Risk Control (“HIRARC”) procedure. Besides, active participation is carried out to manage control measures by implementing Job Safety Analysis. The analysis is now widely accepted by subcontractors and it is successfully enforced at the project sites. SunCon received the prestigious National OSH Excellence Award for the construction sector and the Malaysian Society for Occupational Safety and Health Gold Award (Class II). |
